In 2019, we launched the Godstowe Dove Diploma for girls in our Upper School (years 6 to 8), to encourage learning outside of the curriculum
The diploma programme aims to enable pupils to develop a range of skills and awards outside of the core curriculum, and to receive recognition for their efforts. The Diploma scheme is progressive, involving increasing levels of commitment, learning and challenge, so that every girl can celebrate new achievements. It has been designed to encourage girls to try new activities, learn different skills and demonstrate resilience.
Young people require a broad range of skills and qualities to flourish and the new Dove Diploma has been developed with this in mind.
Fiona Reynolds, Deputy Headmistress for Pupil Development
The Godstowe Dove Diploma is awarded to pupils who successfully complete all three levels of the Dove 'Wings’ Programme. All levels begin in January of any year, with girls starting at the Bronze level and working their way up to the Gold award. Each girl is assigned a staff 'Wing Commander’ who oversee the award and meet with pupils two or three times during the year.
