Introduction to Pre-Prep
For girls and boys aged 4 - 7, Godstowe's Pre-Prep (Lodge) aims to give each girl and boy the very best possible start to their school life within a happy and secure environment.
Our children are taught to work and play constructively, learning the values of co-operation and self-discipline.
Small classes, a carefully constructed timetable, and an excellent range of facilities and ancillary classroom helpers ensure that each child receives a generous amount of individual attention.
Lively, enquiring minds are encouraged and stretched through the medium of first-hand practical experience and sound teaching, within an environment where effort, good manners, consideration for others, and success are nurtured and rewarded.
An after-school activities programme and Care Club is on offer to children in our pre-prep department, details of which may be found under Extended Day.
Lodge children go on a number of trips and outings throughout the course of the year, including:
- Milestones Museum
- Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford
- Botanical Gardens, Oxford
- Tiggywinkles Animal Hospital
- Hindu Mandir Temple, London
- Mop End
Lodge also has regular visits from groups who teach the pupils about animals and wildlife, the most recent being a visit from a beekeeper where the children were able to view part of a hive.
