Admissions Journey
At Godstowe, we aim to make the admissions process as welcoming and straightforward as possible. Whether you’re just starting to explore your options or are ready to choose us, we are here to support and guide you every step of the way.
Step 1: Make an Enquiry
If you’re interested in learning more about Godstowe, we encourage you to get in touch with our Director of Admissions, Nicky Beck. You can submit an online enquiry form or call her on 01494 429006. Nicky will be happy to answer any initial questions you may have about the school and the admissions process.
Step 2: Visit Us
The best way to get a feel for Godstowe is to visit us in person. We host regular Open Mornings throughout the year, where you can tour the school, meet staff and pupils, and see our community in action. If you're unable to attend, we can arrange a private visit at a time that suits you—these are available following completion of the enquiry form.
For Nursery applicants, we also offer Stay and Play sessions, which are a lovely, informal way for you and your child to spend time in our Nursery. These sessions offer a chance to explore our fun, stimulating environment, meet our friendly Nursery staff, and allow your child to mix with other children in a relaxed and welcoming setting. It’s a gentle introduction to life at Godstowe and a great way to start building confidence before they join us officially.
Step 3: Register Your Child
If you feel that Godstowe may be the right fit for your child, the next step is to register. This involves completing our registration form and paying a non-refundable registration fee. This step ensures your child is formally on our admissions list. There is no deadline as such, but we recommend registering as early as possible. If space is available, we are happy to enrol children during the school year.
Step 4: Taster Day
We invite all prospective pupils to visit Godstowe for a Taster Day so they can spend time with us, meet our staff and pupils, and get a real sense of school life. It also gives us the chance to get to know your child as an individual, understand how best to support them, and ensure we can meet their needs. For older children, the visit may include short assessments in English and Maths, which help us tailor their learning journey.
Step 5: Offer of a Place
After the Taster Day we will contact you to let you know the outcome. If a place is available and we feel your child would thrive at Godstowe, we will make a formal offer. To accept the place, you’ll be asked to complete an acceptance form and pay a deposit, which secures your child’s place at the school.
Step 6: Preparing to Join
Once your child’s place has been confirmed, we’ll be in touch with all the information you need to get ready for the start of term – from uniform lists and term dates to details about our bus service and parent portal. Our team is always available to help you feel prepared and confident for your child’s first day.
Godstowe has truly been an incredible experience for Ria. She joined in Form 2 at age 8 as a full-time boarder and had never been away from home. Just like her older sister Sarien, who was also at the school, from her time spent at Godstowe, Ria has blossomed into a confident, responsible, happy and kind young lady. The wonderful teaching and support staff helped her reach her full potential academically and harnessed her sporting skills and ability. We will always cherish the lifelong friendships made and the priceless memories of the years spent at one of the best Prep schools in the UK.
