Godstowe resides in 12 acres of leafy parkland overlooking High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. Our pupils benefit from first-class indoor and outdoor facilities enabling us to provide an outstanding education.
Our classrooms are colourful and spacious with digital whiteboards to enhance the learning experience. We have dedicated libraries in both the Pre-Prep and Prep with a specialist librarian offering advice and encouragement. We have a medical centre with an isolation room onsite, with a nurse on duty 24-hours a day.
Pupils and staff eat healthy and nutritious meals prepared by catering company CH&Co in our light and airy dining hall.
In September 2015, Godstowe opened its doors to a brand-new Early Years building. Situated next to the Nursery, the new building features two new, bright and airy classrooms, cloakrooms and a kitchen for the Reception classes. This additional space allowed for a significant rearrangement of the facilities already in Pre-Prep, which now include a new art room and refurbished classrooms, library and offices.
Specialist Subject Areas
Our specialist classroom facilities include modern science laboratories, excellent computing facilities and a fully-equipped food technology area to ensure our girls get the most out of their learning experience.
We are fortunate to have outstanding purpose-built facilities including a new 25m Indoor Swimming Pool, a Sports Hall with a Dance Studio, four floodlit Netball courts / Tennis courts, a Floodlit Lacrosse pitch / Athletics field.
In 2019 our brand new competition-size swimming pool was opened by Olympic medallist, Rebecca Adlington. We are delighted to have partnered with the following organisations to make best use of this facility and to make it widely available to as many Godstowe pupils and young people externally as we can.
Jubilee Sports Hall
In October 2013, the Jubilee Sports Hall was officially opened by Gabby Logan, a Godstowe parent. The full sized, multi-purpose, indoor sports hall allows for tennis, four badminton courts, netball, basketball and indoor hockey. It is also used for gymnastics, indoor lacrosse, indoor high jump and Lodge gym, to name a few. Upstairs there is a dance/ballet studio, a function room, kitchen facilities and a double balcony looking in and out to the lacrosse field.
Our Music School includes two large classrooms; one fully equipped with keyboards, computers and a clavinova, the other housing another clavinova and a wide range of classroom percussion and ethnic musical instruments. There are 12 practice rooms, each with a piano. Two of these can be used for small ensemble rehearsals and two others are used for larger ensembles. The Recital Hall houses a Bosendorfer grand piano and is regularly used for choir, orchestral and instrumental group rehearsals. Rehearsals are also conducted in the school’s purpose-built theatre. The department has a large catalogue of instrumental music, chamber and orchestral music, CDs and some orchestral instruments which are available for beginners to loan.
We have a purpose-built theatre fitted with modular staging, lighting, sound equipment and surround-sound. As well as termly productions, the JK Theatre is used for concerts, after-school clubs, art exhibitions, assemblies and parents' evenings.
