End of term festivities
It was a busy end of term at Godstowe, with plenty of festivities to get everyone into the Christmas spirit. Friends of Godstowe organised yet another wonderful Christmas Fair on 29th November.
Parents, pupils, staff and old girls flocked to the school to enjoy trade stands, carol singing, Santa's Grotto and last minute bidding on the luxury hampers.
The Upper Division took part in the annual inter-colour Christmas lacrosse tournament. Decked out in festive costumes, the girls took to the lacrosse field, cheered on by parents and pupils. The Red team were the overall victors.
Head of Art Mrs Sloggett, her daughters Cleo and Darcie and four other Godstowe girls dressed up in Father Christmas outfits to take part in the Santa Fun Run in Marlow on 7th December. Having received many generous donations, they raised a total of £660 for Rosie's Rainbow Fund and Marlow Age Concern.
As always, Lodge and Nursery wowed everyone with their fabulous nativity plays. Lodge performed their play twice - once for the school and, the following day, for their parents.
The Carol Service at All Saints Parish Church in High Wycombe brought the term to a close. Hundreds turned out for the occasion, where the orchestra and choirs performed wonderful pieces. Girls read readings written by pupils at the school and traditional carols were sung before everyone departed for the Christmas holidays.
