Success for equestrian team at championships
Three teams from Godstowe competed in the National Equestrian Association Grass Roots Regional Championships on Sunday, 22nd November.
Having successfully qualified earlier in the term, seven girls travelled to Bury Farm Equestrian Centre in Buckinghamshire for the NSEA Grass Roots Championships. Isabel Bhatia, Eleanor Kochman, Celeste Marr-Johnson and Emma Miles represented the Godstowe team in the 50cm class. With all four riders completing clear rounds, the team finished in 6th place.
More than 50 competitors took part in the 60cm - the biggest class of the day. The team of Lila Hill, Bea Barker, Isabel Bhatia and Eleanor Kochman rode really well and finished 8th overall.
Lila Hill and Bea Barker were then joined by Lois Logan to form a team of three for the 70cm. In all classes, only the best three scores count, providing the opportunity for the lowest score to be dropped. Therefore, with only a team of three in the 70cm, every round mattered. The three girls produced brilliant clear rounds and finished in 3rd place.
This is the first year that Godstowe has fielded an equestrian team so it was a great achievement to come home with so many rosettes.
