| 25 June 2010 | Snippets Volume 4 Issue 30If any of you blinked between Wednesday and Friday you will have missed the raising of the steelwork which now defines the space set aside for the new Reception area. You now can have a real sense of the scale of the development and many of the girls in the Main School now know how giant Meccano works, having watched them bolt the thing together during various break times. | 18 June 2010 | Snippets Volume 4 Issue 29Main School Sports Day has been a great success today. The girls displayed enormous enthusiasm and team spirit and the weather was kind to us. Many thanks to so many supporters who lined the track encouraging everyone to perform their best. Well done to the Green Team! View PDF>

| 11 June 2010 | Snippets Volume 4 Issue 28Having come back from a sweltering week at Skern Lodge during which all the girls attempted everything and had a thoroughly exciting time, we now find ourselves at the end of another week. Suddenly it’s Lodge Sports. It was to have been tipping with rain today but, so far, it just hasn’t happened. So, therefore, good luck to everyone who will be taking part although by the time you’ve read this it will have happened (unless of course it rains between now and then). View PDF>

| 28 May 2010 | Snippets Welcome to half term! Seven weeks have flown by almost as if they didn’t exist. It has been a busy time for everyone and I shall congratulate staff and pupils for an energetic, fun half of term. View PDF>

| 21 May 2010 | Snippets Volume 4 Issue 26It has been great fun to support one of our favourite charities today. Main School girls enjoyed an assembly where the girls saw DVD footage of a project that Brookwood, our caterers, have been supporting for some time. Moreover, at lunchtime, we enjoyed a specially prepared African lunch and the kitchen staff even dressed for the occasion! Many thanks to everyone involved. View PDF>

| 14 May 2010 | Snippets Volume 4 Issue 25Firstly, many thanks to you all for helping us enjoy a very successful Art Exhibition, Fashion Show and Open Morning, which was busier than expected. I must congratulate all of the girls and boys exhibiting work on another outstanding demonstration of the quality of art at Godstowe. Here is an extract from an email which arrived in my inbox immediately after Open Morning from a prospective parent: ‘The art display was truly impressive. It showed that every child can achieve great things on that front, and a few can reach incredible heights for their age.’ Needless to say, I am greatly indebted to Mrs Zuberi, Mrs Goss and Mrs Sloggett for their outstanding contributions to and leadership of the department. My thanks also to Mr Ludwick for preparing an excellent slideshow, which can be seen in Reception. You can also view some photographs I have taken via the link on the front page of our website. | 07 May 2010 | Snippets Volume 4 Issue 24I am thoroughly looking forward to this evening’s art exhibition and fashion show and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible for this outstanding annual event. You may not be aware that we attract several visitors from senior schools to this exhibition each year and they always comment on the extraordinary quality of work which they claim rarely to have seen in other prep schools. | 30 April 2010 | Snippets Volume 4 Issue 23I hope you will be excited and impressed by the additional attachments you will receive this week. Look out for PDFs of the new reception area that is to be started during the half term holiday. See if you can identify the people included in the illustration. Mrs Batchelor is slightly concerned that we are proposing to replace her with a new model! View PDF>

| 23 April 2010 | Snippets Volume 4 Issue 22Another week bites the dust, some of which contained examinations. I hope the girls will be pleased with their results. The big yellow shiny thing has been in much evidence this term already and it looks as if we are in for a good weekend, which, for me, includes a visit to Windsor theatre with the boarders. View PDF>

| 16 April 2010 | Snippets Volume 4 Issue 21A warm (let’s hope) welcome to the summer term. A quick word from me this afternoon... I have just come from helping to celebrate Mrs Brook’s 80th Birthday with a slice of cake in our newly opened staff room. You may know that Mrs Brook works alongside Miss Gloster in the Uniform Shop, and we are delighted to wish her a very Happy Birthday indeed. I now have two minutes before showing some parents around the school – the fifth couple in the last three days! You are obviously continuing to spread the good word about Godstowe, for which I thank you most sincerely. Please keep up the good work!
