Scholarships to Godstowe
Godstowe offers two Academic Scholarships in recognition of current and potential intellectual talent. One Scholarship is awarded at 8+ entering Year 4 and one at 11+ entering Year 7 for either day or boarding pupils. Applications are welcome from external as well as internal candidates.
The value of the Scholarship is up to 33 per cent of the normal school fees. Acceptance of a Scholarship will be taken as confirmation of parents’ intention to educate their daughters at Godstowe through to the completion of 13+ Common Entrance or further scholarship. An 8+ Scholarship is valid for five years, and 11+ Scholarship for two years.
The Scholarship examinations are held at Godstowe on Monday, 4 and Tuesday, 5 February 2008. Candidates are welcome to stay at the School overnight.
The 8+ Scholarship Examination comprises:
- English (composition and comprehension) and Mathematics (4 rules, investigation and mental arithmetic)
- Science/DT Practical Project
- Standardised Tests
- An interview with the Headmaster
The 11+ Scholarship Examination comprises:
- English and Mathematics
- Science
- French, Spanish or Latin
- Standardised Tests
- An interview with the Headmaster
