Roles within the Friends
We always need parents to help on an ad hoc basis who are not necessarily Friends Group members. Within the group there are a number of roles: Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary, Class Rep Co-ordinator, and Cake Sale Co-ordinator, as well as those who oversee catering, venue management, decorations, entertainment, literature, and fund raising (raffles/auctions).
Class Representatives
In most instances, the class reps are your first point of contact. The class rep is key in communicating information from the committee to all other parents. They will co-ordinate requests for help with events and aim to keep everyone up to date regarding what is happening and when. They ensure that any matters relevant to the Friends are passed on so that they can be addressed as appropriate. Many class reps also organise other social events, such as coffee mornings and parties for parents, that are year-group specific and independent of the other Friends activities.
